Fix Windows Errors With Fixdows
There are a lot of programs that claim to fix problems in Windows updates or the Microsoft Store, but most of them turn out to be asking for money or adding adware. Fortunately, the open source utility tool Fixdows (a portmanteau of fix and Windows) does the job without any of that.
The program features a simple tabbed interface that corresponds to different categories of issues. For instance, the "Windows Update Fixes" tab resets all update components and restarts services related to it. The "Windows Store Reset" tab helps you troubleshoot problems with apps downloaded from the Microsoft Store. And the "Integrity Checks & Fixes" tab helps you clean storage space by removing residual files that might be causing stuttering and other performance problems.
It's worth noting that the program will automatically reboot your computer after applying fixes. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but you should know that it may also wipe any Group Policy settings you've set.
Otherwise, Fixdows is an easy-to-use and efficient tool to help you resolve common Windows errors with a click of a mouse. Plus, it's available in both portable and setup versions, so you can use it wherever your computer takes you. And you can always get a new version of the program from the developer's website. The only downside is that it doesn't work on 64-bit versions of Windows.
